Local Alabama Fan Reminds Clemson Friends For 47th Time That Bama Is In Playoffs
"Just wanted to make sure y'all saw the bracket," says man who has sent bracket 46 previous times

GREENVILLE — Local Alabama alumnus known to friends and family only as "Bama Dan" has reportedly reminded his friend group for the 47th time this week that the University of Alabama football team has secured a spot in the College Football Playoff while Clemson has not, sources confirmed Wednesday.
"I'm not trying to rub it in or anything," said Bama Dan, 34, while wearing a houndstooth blazer to a New Year's Eve party in the Overbrook neighborhood where every other guest was wearing Clemson orange. "I just think it's interesting, you know? The bracket is really something. Have you guys seen the bracket?"
According to witnesses, Bama Dan has brought up Alabama's playoff berth at least 47 documented times since the selection announcement, including during a toast at his sister-in-law's engagement party, in the middle of a work presentation about Q4 sales figures, and while ordering at Waffle House at 2 a.m.
"He texted our group chat a screenshot of the bracket with Alabama circled at 6:47 this morning," said longtime friend and Clemson graduate Marcus Chen, 33. "It was his third text about it. The first one was at 11:58 p.m. on New Year's Eve. He sent it right before midnight instead of 'Happy New Year.'"
"We like him when it's not football season, but right now he needs to shut up," said Amanda Foster, a mutual friend who attended Clemson. "I really hope Indiana beats Bama today. We all do."
Friends report that Bama Dan has also changed his Fantasy Football team name to "Clemson's Couch," updated his email signature to include Alabama's playoff seed, and begun pronouncing the word "twelve" as "twelf-team playoff that Clemson is not in."
"After the third 'Roll Tide' at brunch, I told him to give it a rest," said Chen. "He looked me dead in the eye, dabbed, and said 'scoreboard.' He's 34 years old."
At press time, Bama Dan was drafting a group text asking if anyone wanted to come over Saturday to "watch some football, specifically the playoff football that features Alabama."
